"The double degree has in fact developed my attraction for mobility and made me aware of the relationships that countries can have with each other."

Promotion 2011-2015

When I left the baccalaureate, I really wanted to go study abroad. Having lived in England for 4 years and being very attached to the English-speaking culture, I decided to study there as part of the double degree. And that was only positive! It allowed me to meet people from all over the world, study in two languages, and learn more about law under two different legal systems. I believe that the current geopolitical and legal issues cannot be read by concealing all European and international dimensions.

The double degree has in fact developed my attraction for mobility and made me aware of the relationships that countries can have with each other.

After obtaining my master's degree in international, European and comparative law from the University of Toulouse 1 Capitole as well as the LLB from the University of Essex, I joined the master's degree in judicial and legal careers at Sciences Po Paris law school. at the start of the 2015 school year.
This is a two-year master's degree in law, multidisciplinary, providing both private and public law courses, as well as general culture courses and even a theater workshop! This master's degree has a limited staff (about 40 per year), and is approached as a kind of "preparation", intended for students wishing to prepare for competitive examinations for the senior civil service (magistrate, police commissioner, gendarmerie officer above all, and possibly the CRFPA).

At the moment I still hesitate between the ENM, and the gendarmerie. However, I would like to pursue an operational career, and I would particularly like to be able to occupy positions overseas and abroad.
Even though I don't actually want to become a baristor or a solicitor in England, the double degree has helped me a lot. It brings an open mind, especially internationally, and also demonstrates our ability to adapt. This explains in particular the fact that I do not wish to take a career as a traditional civil servant, and that I wish as much as possible to diversify my options internationally. I am mainly interested in legal issues concerning Europe.

In addition to this, the double degree undeniably makes it possible to stand out when applying for the master 2, compared to students with a more traditional law course (which is not negligible given that the masters are more and more selective!) .

In any case, I wish everyone to try the adventure, they will not regret it.
