"The double degree makes it possible to stand out from many candidates because it attests to our ability to work and communicate in English as well as our knowledge of another legal system. The LL.B. is essential to work as a solicitor or barrister in England."

Class of 2010  - 2014

The Double Degree in French and English Law was a very enriching experience. Studying abroad and the international aspect of the University of Essex broadened my horizons and made me want to continue my law studies abroad.

After obtaining my Masters in International and European Law at the University of Paris Ouest and my LL.B. in July 2014, I joined the Bilingual Masters in French Law - Foreign Rights at the University of Paris Ouest. This training, which lasts two years, allows me to simultaneously do a French Master (at a distance) and a Juris Doctor at American University in Washington. I hope to pass the New York Bar upon completion of my studies, then pass the Section 100 exams to obtain the Paris Bar.
I still do not have a fixed professional project, but I am currently considering the possibility of doing a doctorate in public or private international law.

The Double Diploma was a great help when I applied for my Masters.  It makes it possible to stand out from many candidates because it attests to our ability to work and communicate in English as well as our knowledge of another legal system. The LL.B. is essential to work as a solicitor or barrister in England. It is also very useful for those who wish to study in any Common Law country and who are considering a career abroad.

I strongly advise students who are planning to study law to apply for this training. It is an unforgettable experience.
