Where did you study in France?
Toulouse Capitole 1

What are the full titles of your License 3 and Master 1?
License 3 Private Law Course
Master 1 International Law

What is the full title of your post-Double Degree training?
Advanced LL.M in European and International Business Law, Leiden University

Why did you choose this training?
In addition to the reputation of Leiden University, several factors have led me to favor this training over others:

1. First, career guidance. The training offered was part of a professional dynamic rather than in the research sector. Not having, for the moment, the ambition to continue my studies with a doctorate, the professional and pragmatic course of the training seemed to me adequate to start a career.

2. Next, the work methodology. Classes are made up of a maximum of 35 students, which allows for privileged contact with teachers and speakers. It is no longer a question here of taking notes on theoretical subjects, but of really participating in the debates by adopting a pragmatic approach through the study of concrete cases.

3. Finally, specialization. The program offered was perfect for what I was looking for. The courses are not chosen by the student but imposed in order to allow adequate training. In addition, the training includes participation in the "European Law Moot Court" .

Was the Double-Diploma useful to you in obtaining your choice? Why ?

Completely ! Having had the opportunity to study in England and France not only gave me the basics of two different legal systems but also allowed me to develop a certain work methodology borrowing from both systems. In general, the profile that is sought tends to be international, and the Double Degree was undoubtedly a huge advantage in my application.

What are your professional projects?
I do not have specific professional projects for the moment. The ideal would be to always work in an international perspective, in particular within a legal department of companies wishing to settle within the European Union. I am also considering turning to the European bodies.

What advice (s) would you give to double degree students as part of their post-double degree research?
My advice would be to start their research as early as possible by establishing a "top 5" of their choice. Universities do not all have the same application deadlines, so it is important to be well prepared. Above all, do not hesitate to contact former Double Degree alumni who have studied in one of the desired courses, or in particular discuss with our teachers to obtain their advice.

Another piece of advice would be, especially for training outside France, to send your application as soon as possible. Some universities, despite the "deadline", operate on a "first-come first-served basis", that is to say that if they have received a certain number of positive applications before the deadline, they will not. will accept more.

When it comes to letters of recommendation, it is important to do this well in advance because this is what can, quite often, take the longest time.

Graduate, and then what?

This portrait is part of the "Graduate, and then what?" Series, a project of the Association aimed at  create a “portfolio” of post-double-degree opportunities using a questionnaire circulated to the graduating class (2013-2017). Thanks to the latter, we wish to demonstrate the diversity of the double-degree opportunities in order, among other things, to promote training among high school students and employers, as well as to be able to help double-degree students in their academic choices and professionals. See our article “ Graduate, and then what? ” For the results of our survey.
